Message received

Thank you, your message reached the desk

Your message was received by the Fendoria editorial desk. This page confirms it and explains what happens next. You do not need to send it again.

Keep this page open while you finish reading, or use the links near the bottom to return to the desk. If your note was time-sensitive, it is already flagged ahead of the general queue.

What we received

Your note is in the desk queue along with the story or claim you referenced. If you sent documents or links, they came through with the message. There is nothing further you need to do right now. Nothing is lost if you close the tab.

A received message is read by a person, not by a sorting tool. Someone at the desk opens it, checks what it refers to, and decides whether it belongs in the correction stack, the tip stack, or the general inbox. That first read is what puts it in the right place.

If your message included a link to a published Fendoria story, that link travels with the note so the editor can see the page you meant. If it included a document, the file stays attached to the same entry.

How the desk routes messages

Correction requests go to the editor handling that story, and tips are routed by beat: Congress, elections and courts, the White House, or the campaign trail. General inquiries follow the same queue at lower priority. Routing is manual, which is why replies are not instant.

Corrections Editor of that story Checked against the published article and its sourcing note.
Congress Legislative beat Floor votes, committee work, member statements.
Elections Elections and courts Race filings, ballot rules, redistricting disputes.
White House Press and access Briefings, pool coverage, media access.
Campaign trail Senate races Events, fundraising figures, candidate claims.

Beat routing is not a promise that your area is covered that day. It means the note lands with the person who follows that subject closest. A routing decision is made by hand, so a note can sit in the queue for a while before it reaches the right desk.

When you might hear back

We reply when there is something to act on, which may mean a follow-up question rather than a full response. During busy news periods, including the weeks around Election Day, replies can take longer. Time-sensitive corrections are handled first.

Time-sensitive correction Read first, because a published error needs to be fixed before the page is quoted again. If the correction is confirmed, the story is updated and the change is noted on the page.
Routine correction Handled in order alongside everything else in the correction stack. Straightforward fixes are usually quicker than ones that need a second source.
Verifiable tip A note that comes with a document, a date, or a named public record moves faster than one without. Expect a question back before anything is reported.
General inquiry The slowest lane by design, because it follows the same queue at lower priority. It still gets read; it simply waits its turn.

Why we might not respond

Not every message leads to a reply. Some tips cannot be verified, some corrections are already addressed, and some inquiries fall outside our beats. That is not a judgment on the sender. If you have new information later, send it through the contact page.

Sending something else

If you have a separate tip or correction, use the contact page again rather than replying to the confirmation. A new message routes correctly and keeps the details together. Include the story or claim it relates to.

Replying to a confirmation email can work too, but a fresh message through the contact page arrives with the same structure the desk expects: the subject, the article or claim, and anything you want to attach to it.

A correction Name the article and the specific line that is wrong. A link to the page saves the editor a search.
A news tip Say what you know and how you know it. A document, a date, or a public record makes a tip far easier to check.
A follow-up If you already wrote and have more to add, start a new message and mention the first one so the two stay linked.
A general question Questions about coverage or the desk itself are welcome, though they follow the slower lane in the queue.

Keeping your details private

Contact details you sent with the message are used to follow up on that message. Our handling of personal data is described in the privacy policy, and cookie use is covered in the cookie policy. Both are linked in the footer.

A tip is read by the editor who handles that beat. It is not published with your contact details attached, and it is not added to a mailing list. If you want to stay anonymous, say so in the first line of the message.

Documents and links you sent stay with the message entry. If you need something removed later, write again through the contact page and name the message you want deleted.

Could my message have failed to send?

If you reached this page, it arrived. A failed send shows an error on the contact form instead of a confirmation page, and the message stays in the form so you can try again. Check the sent confirmation from the contact form if you are unsure which one you used.

Should I resend the same note to be safe?

No. One note is enough, and a second copy splits the conversation. If you remember something you left out, use the contact page for a new message and mention the first one so the editor can connect them.

Do you accept documents as attachments?

Files sent with the message travel with it, and links are just as useful. If a file is too large for the form, send the link and describe what is behind it so the editor knows what to look for.

Will you tell me if you are not using my tip?

Usually not, and that is not a comment on the tip. The desk only writes back when there is a question to ask or a correction to confirm. If a story based on your tip is published, you will see it on the site.
